IBV Acquires Softwarelab
(Urdorf, 29. 10. 2014) The data specialist IBV acquires the Italian touch expert Softwarelab and expands its expertise in the field touch for business.
IBV is a specialist for business solutions and IT security and has longtime experience in the field of integrated applications as well as the modeling and automation of business processes. For some time, IBV has been investing in research and development of software for touch-optimized devices to realize the office of tomorrow. With the acquisition of Softwarelab, the internationally operating IBV expands its core competences in a strategic and promising area. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The Italian company Softwarelab specializes in programming and designing user interfaces for touch-optimized big screens. The development focuses on NUI (Natural User Interface) for touch and multitouch devices. Gian Paolo Santopaolo, founder and CTO of Softwarelab was awarded by Microsoft for the third consecutive time Most Valuable Professional (MVP). He becomes the new head of the Software & Touch division of IBV.
G.P. Santopaolo says: “With Softwarelab it was difficult to lead the business and development department alone and I was looking for a strategic partnership for some time. But only after meeting Andreas Görög and discussing some of my ideas and visions I felt truly understood. Softwarelab and IBV complement each other perfectly and I am very happy to become a part of IBV.”
As head of the development team G.P. Santopaolo focuses on the development of the IBV genomeFrameworks and the adaption of our existing products for multitouch technology.
